Here is the first round of plans. For orientation to the rest of the house imagine the back yard to the right, the master bedroom below, the livingroom to the left, and the dining room up top.

Ok so merge the kitchen from above with the bathroom from below to imagine the finalize plan.
I know it is hard to imagine how this really flows in the house but here are the thoughts....
- islands in the kitchen mean socializing while cooking
- a door from the laundry room to the bathroom means that laundry doesn't have to be slugged all through the house
- a door from the laundry room means that when outside you can come in the back door and go to the bathroom
- a shower in the bathroom to make it full bath
- a separate bedroom closet as well as a bathroom closet
