Veggie Gardens

My little garden plot out back is going to be FULL of tomatoes this year! I decided to buy one plant of three different varieties of tomatoes so that I will have a great blend.

There are also some onions, chives, and a pepper in there too!

The expanded garden is between my house and my neighbors. I give my neighbor and all of his power tools all the credit for making this plot and planting all these veggies. My job is to water!

Latest Flowers

Thanks mom for filling these pots with beautiful flowers!

These lilies were a pleasant surprise this spring. They make the hydrant look so much better.

There is nothing like a big bursting bouquet of day lilies.

PaddleFest 2010

1st Annual PaddleFest with Dee was wonderful. Sunny, 80 degrees, 100+ kayakers and a tail wind made our 4 mile paddle down the Choptank River exquisite. Thanks Dee for checking off another item from my list:

9. kayak on local waters

Hair Cuts

Can you tell who is who in these pictures? The girls sported the mohawk-look for about a week and now they are in their full summer short hair best! The best part is that they are as soft as velour.

Their favorite way to play!

3. walk in a 10K race

Scratch that 10K and make it 10 MILES! Diane and I really walked 10 miles around Easton in the Fredrick Douglass Memorial Walk which raised money for both the Fredrick Douglas Society and the local YMCA.

Thanks Diane for keeping me on my feet and moving forward on that beautiful saturday morning.

I'm still in shock that my body allowed me to do this. Thanks bionic hips!

Moo

It was a beautiful saturday morning at 7am. I was outside in the front yard watering my new plants before the temperature rose when I heard some Moo-ing. Now, hearing the sound of cows is not a strange thing for me but usually it is a distant faint echo moo that I hear. This saturday morning I heard a loud, angry Moooooooooo and walking off the bike path came a huge cow! Yes a cow on the loose and roaming through downtown. All of my neighbors came out of their houses with the PJs on to laugh at the fact that a cow was trotting threw our neighborhood. I called the police and they said "Mam, we have been tracking that cow all morning but he is moving so fast that we just can catch him."

Edible Yard

My yard is almost all full of edible plants. These plant are not only in my raised bed garden but in the flower beds throughout the yard. Here are pictures of a few of my favorites who are all making great come backs after this years snow disaster!

Blueberries

Figs

Strawberries (planted new this year so I can't wait until next year when they produce!)

Raspberries

Chives

And don't forget the oregano, sage, mint, lavender, basil, arugula, lettuce, and spinach!
