Plunk

After a lazy day of house projects on a very gray and rainy day we took a walk down to the dock. We had just finished a glorious Indian dinner made by my bro-in-law and the sun was trying to show us a sunset. We joked that it was just about warm enough for the Porties to go swimming, but I decided that they were tired and that it was just too cold to worry about swimming. So off we went and the dogs dashed ahead, but they came back dry. Then as we were standing on the dock Lula took the plunge. Right down the rocks she went and then straight back up to shake all over us. So, now that she was wet, she might as well swim. So, I picked up a stick to have her jump off the dock and Lula and Leni got very excited. Lula did not jump after the stick BUT Leni fell right off the dock in all of her excitement! Yes Leni fell off the dock for her first swim. She plunged all the way under but quickly resurfaced pawing frantically at the water. With encouragement she made her way over to the edge and climbed up the rocks untramatized. I sure am glad that her water dog genetics kicked right in! What a dramatic first swim!
